Modeling psychological well-being among abdominal and pelvic cancer patients: The roles of total pain, meaning in life, and coping.

2022

Objective: Relationships between pain and well‐being are mediated by a variety of factors. This study examines a serial mediating role of meaning in life and coping in the relationship of total pain with psychological well‐being in abdominal and pelvic cancer (APC) patients. Total pain is understood in terms of physical, psychological, social, and spiritual components interacting upon one another. Methods: Adult patients diagnosed with the APC (N = 333) who were undergoing radiotherapy/chemotherapy treatment in two inpatient units of university hospitals completed questionnaires measuring total pain, psychological well‐being, meaning in life, and coping. Green inclusive leadership and green creativity in the tourism and hospitality sector: serial mediation of green psychological climate and work engag…

2021

Green creativity contributes to green innovation and green sustainability in both the manufacturing and services sectors. However, academic research offering more nuanced insights about the drivers of green creativity (GCRT) is deficient, particularly within the tourism and hospitality sector. The present study thus theorized a model based on the Componential Theory of Creativity (CTC) to examine green inclusive leadership (GIL), green psychological climate (GPC), and green work engagement (GWE) as antecedents of GCRT. The model not only posits the direct associations but also accommodates a more complex interaction of variables by anticipating the mediation effect of GPC and GWE on the ass…

Grounded in the Self-Determination Theory and particularly on the basic psychological needs theory, a structural equation model (SEM) was tested with the following sequence: perception of the amount of corrective feedback generated by the coach, perceived legitimacy of corrective feedback, satisfaction of basic psychological needs, and vitality in soccer players. Additionally, simple mediation and serial (double) mediation models were also tested. Participa…

The relationship between fear of COVID-19 and intention to get vaccinated. The serial mediation roles of existential anxiety and conspiracy beliefs

2021

Abstract Today, we witness the progress toward global COVID-19 vaccinations organized by countries worldwide. Experts say a mass vaccination plan is the only effective antidote against the spread of SARS-COV-2. However, a part of the world population refuses vaccination. The present study aimed to understand the impact of some individual variables on the intention to get vaccinated. Through a serial mediation model, we tested the influence of fear of COVID-19 on the intention to get vaccinated and the serial mediating effect of existential anxiety and conspiracy beliefs. Via a cross-sectional design this research was conducted with the participation of 223 French adults (Female: 69.5%; Male…
